If women are ordained to the diaconate, won’t the next step be to ordain them to the priesthood/presbytery?

Ordination to the diaconate is not just a “stepping stone” to the priesthood/presbytery. The order has its own charism and ministry. Furthermore, for over a thousand years the Church ordained women to the diaconate and it did not lead to the ordination to the presbytery; therefore within the framework of the Orthodox Church, we should not think that would be the case today.
